Coming to live in a foreign country is stressful but when you receive documents from the tax office, in a language you don’t understand, the challenges can be daunting. Sorting through the Swiss tax system on your own seems almost impossible without the help of a professional. When I first came to Switzerland, I used the services of one of the Big 5 Global Accounting firms to do my taxes. The service was impersonal and the process was slow because every time I would contact them, there would be a different person on my “case” so I had to tell my story over and over again. Their procedures were generic so whenever I had an issue that wasn’t standard, it would take weeks to get an answer.

In 2014, I decided to start my own business in Switzerland and knew I needed advice about Swiss procedures from a professional in order to set up a business. A colleague recommended Cigdem Genc in Basel and she started working with me to begin the procedure for starting a business. After only one meeting, she gathered all the information from me and was able to start the procedure. She knew all the procedures as well as the nuances of exactly what the government office would require on order to approve my new business. Within a few weeks I had the approval and my official business number. Mrs. Genc made it a painless and quick process.

After working with her for only a short time, I decided to also make us of her tax services and have her complete our income tax filling for 2014. I was used to working with other companies who took weeks and put me in a position to have to chase them to get my taxes ready for filling. With Mrs. Genc, it was only a matter of a few days. She gathered the information from me and a few days later, my Swiss taxes were ready to file.

Doing business with Mrs. Genc and UFBG has been a pleasure. I trust them to always provide accurate as well as timely work for me. Ther personal attention and the way she and her team take my case as unique is really a delight for me, the customer.

The house was sold on one of these two. We met this couple two weeks ago at random. They are very happy with the purchase. In 2006, we started our search for our own home in Switzerland. We were very fortunate to come across the website of Mrs Genc. On the website was an advertisement for a new build home and fortunately, due to the language barrier at the time, Mrs Genc spoke excellent English. She assisted us with the entire process which was completely new and alien to us. Falc Immobilien offer a comprehensive service with regards house buying and, as in our case, should you need Mrs Genc’s support in some other parts of the process she is happy to offer her services for this also. Obviously none of this comes free, but we found Falc Immobilien fees to be reasonable, the extent obviously depending on the service level you require. Without Mrs Genc we would not be living in our lovely home in Baselland. She helped make our dream a reality. We have no hesitation in recommending her. Thank you so much Mrs Genc.
